Mark Shabad, a prominent businessman, public figure, and philanthropist, serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Alef-Bank.

Mr. Shabad is an active participant in the independent Jewish movement and continues to lead the Jewish Cultural Association (JCA) — one of the first legal organizations in the USSR, whose activities served as the ideological and organizational foundation for the establishment of the Vaad and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

Mark Shabad heads the Association of Russian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2007, at the General Assembly of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, he was elected Vice President of the EAJC, and in 2011, he became a member of the Executive Committee of the World Jewish Congress.
