History and Judaism

This series of selected portraits of Tanakh figures represents an attempt to flesh out the broader narrative and clarify various circumstances alluded to in the Holy Scriptures. This work aims to foster a deeper understanding of well-known biblical characters, analyze their motives, and elucidate the spiritual substance of their actions, alongside the experiences and aspirations of these individuals within their historical context. To achieve this, the author has drawn upon traditional Jewish sources. In most instances, these sources are not explicitly cited, as the material derived from the rich treasury of Jewish literature is presented not as direct quotations, but as synthesized insights compiled from diverse texts of varying levels and genres. Readers familiar with these sources will readily recognize the references, whereas those unacquainted with Jewish scholarship would only find detailed academic citations confusing.
