This book is based on tape recordings made by Professor Tavger during the final year of his life. Ben-Zion Tavger immigrated to Israel in 1972 from the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. For many years, he struggled against the KGB and Soviet authorities for the right to live in his homeland. He was hunted, persecuted, and harassed as the regime sought a plausible pretext to convict the "traitor." Yet, by divine grace, Tavger made it to Israel and, after some time, settled in Kiryat Arba, Hebron.
