Memorial Candle Monument to be unveiled in Jerusalem in January

The Memorial Candle Monument to be unveiled in January 2020, in Jerusalem, Israel. The future monument in Jerusalem shares its name with a public action that traditionally takes place in St. Petersburg on January 27, the day of the complete lifting of the Siege of Leningrad. People turn off the lights and light a candle in memory of all the residents and defenders of the besieged Leningrad.

On the same day, Jews also light memorial candles since January 27 is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. We mourn together.

Remembering the past is our responsibility in the present. The Memorial Candle in Jerusalem appeals to our memory, reminding us that the world is still fragile.
