Regarding the barbaric attack on Israel on October 7, 2023

On the holiday of Simchat Torah, October 7, 2023, the state of Israel was subjected to a series of unprecedented terrorist attacks by the Hamas group, accompanied by massive rocket fire targeting numerous cities across the country.

The events of October 7 represent one of the most brutal terrorist attacks in modern history, echoing the darkest chapters of Jewish history and constituting the greatest tragedy of the modern Jewish state.

The EAJC firmly believes that no political objectives or ideologies can justify the brutal slaughter and targeting of civilians.

The EAJC expresses its sincere gratitude to the nations, organizations, politicians, and public figures who stood with Israel during this dark hour for the Jewish people. The EAJC is also grateful to all those who have unequivocally condemned the actions of Hamas.

The EAJC urges all nations of the civilized world that have not yet done so to outlaw the terrorist organization Hamas and its affiliates.

The EAJC calls upon all those concerned with the fate of the Jewish people to continue providing the utmost support for Israel on social media, in public statements and press releases, as well as within their respective governments, parliaments, civil societies, and the international arena.

The EAJC recalls that in recent years, recognizing these challenges and threats, we have dedicated significant efforts and supported numerous security enhancement initiatives in the southern regions of Israel bordering the Gaza Strip.

The EAJC demands the immediate and unconditional release of all remaining Israeli and foreign hostages.

The EAJC grieves with those who have lost loved ones, offers its profound support to the families of those still held hostage, and wishes a swift recovery to all who have suffered as a result of this immense tragedy.
