Over 800 Taglit participants experienced a remarkable day in the Negev Desert

The “Taglit in the Blooming Desert” event gathered 800 program participants from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Azerbaijan for an immersive day in the western Negev. Part of a 10-day tour of Israel, the initiative is designed to foster Jewish identity, strengthen ties with Israel and its people, and provide vital support to local residents and businesses.

Throughout the day, participants explored the Negev Desert, engaging with its community, cuisine, and culture. The itinerary included educational seminars, tastings of local produce, art and music workshops, and a cycling tour from Sderot to Ashkelon. All 800 participants dined at local kibbutzim and moshavim.

Taglit participants engage with a unique Jewish history and rich culture, which serve as a solid foundation for building both personal and national futures,” stated Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Director General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

“Taglit in the Blooming Desert” is a collaborative initiative of Taglit, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, and the Genesis Philanthropy Group, offering Russian-speaking participants the opportunity to experience one of Israel’s most scenic and fascinating regions. Research consistently demonstrates the profound impact of the Israel experience on the Jewish identity of Taglit participants, reinforcing their sense of belonging to the Jewish people and their connection to Israel.
