Over 1,000 Russian-speaking Israelis attended the Limmud Festival in Jerusalem

The 11th Limud FSU Israel festival concluded in Jerusalem. This year, the festival, which was held in the capital of Israel for the first time after a five-year hiatus, brought together more than 1,000 Russian-speaking Israelis. Traditionally, the event's guests included many prominent figures of Israeli society, politicians, public figures, and cultural figures, such as former Minister of Internal Affairs and Education Gideon Sa'ar, former Chief of the General Staff and Minister of Defense Moshe Ya'alon, President of the Supreme Court Esther Hayut, State Comptroller Yosef Shapira, Chairman of the Jewish Agency Isaac Herzog, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Minister of Environmental Protection Ze'ev Elkin, Professor Ze'ev Khanin, philanthropist, President of Limmud FSU and Chairman of the EAJC Board Aaron Frenkel, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), businessman and philanthropist Michael Mirilashvili, and Vice President of Community Relations for the Genesis Philanthropy Group Dorit Golender.

Chaim Chesler, founder of Limmud FSU, stated: "We are delighted to bring our project back to Jerusalem. We have succeeded in bringing together over a thousand volunteers, public figures, and politicians." President of Limmud FSU Aaron Frenkel added: "This year, we resolved to host the festival once again in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish state. No city is more suitable than Jerusalem to host the first festival of the new decade of Limmud FSU. We look forward with confidence to the future success of our initiative."

President of the Supreme Court Esther Hayut addressed the festival participants during a special event dedicated to the memory of Elie Wiesel: "The State of Israel is a source of strength, pride, and hope for all of us. We are duty-bound to protect it and the democratic values proclaimed by its founders. The highest values are individual rights and the protection of freedom and equality before the law."

The President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress stated: "Limmud in Jerusalem has brought together Jews from all corners of the country. They have gathered to learn from one another and to share knowledge in a wide range of fields. Throughout our lives, we encounter various fields of scientific knowledge, and in each of them, there are theories that, at a certain stage of human development, were proven false despite once being accepted as truth. Our people possess unique and eternal knowledge—the Torah. Unlike other disciplines, our teaching has remained true for many centuries. The Torah is the foundation of our existence, the source of life."
