David Lau: The objectives of the EAJC are of vital importance to the Jewish people

Yesterday (Monday), a delegation of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, led by Mikhael Mirilashvili, met with the Chief Rabbi of Israel, David Lau. The EAJC President outlined the objectives of the Congress and detailed the structural reforms implemented within the organization over the past year. “Our mission is to support Jewish communities in the diaspora, ensuring they become strong, self-sufficient, and influential. Furthermore, it is of paramount importance to us that every Jew has the opportunity to lead a full Jewish life,” stated Mr. Mirilashvili.

The Chief Rabbi of Israel extended his blessings to those present and emphasized the significance of the goals set by the EAJC President. “Many Jews in the diaspora remain disconnected from spiritual life and Jewish education; therefore, the objectives and activities of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress are of critical importance for the Jewish people,” Rabbi Lau remarked.

Armon Hanatziv, the monument construction site

Prior to the meeting with Rabbi Lau, the delegation met with officials from the Jerusalem Municipality, who conducted a tour of Armon Hanatziv. At this site, with the support of the EAJC, a monument dedicated to the victims of the Siege of Leningrad and the participants of the Second World War will be erected. The monument is scheduled for installation in late 2018.

Alongside the EAJC President, the delegation included EAJC First Vice-President Temur Khikhinashvili (Ben-Yehuda), Vice-Presidents Alexandr Bilinkis and Temur Ben Yehuda (Maxim Pasik), EAJC Director General Dr. Haim Ben-Yakov, and others.
