The EAJC honors the memory of fallen soldiers and victims of terror

This evening, Israel will begin its Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism. The Memorial Day events will commence with a nationwide siren sounding at 20:00. Following this, the main official ceremony will take place at the Western Wall, attended by the Prime Minister, the IDF Chief of Staff, and the families of those who lost their loved ones in wars and terrorist attacks.

The following day, at 11:00, a two-minute siren will sound across the country, succeeded by official memorial ceremonies at all military cemeteries nationwide. These ceremonies will be attended by the families of the fallen, public figures, and representatives of the government, police, and security agencies. The primary state ceremony is held annually at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl.

On the Memorial Day for Israel's Fallen Soldiers, the nation honors the memory of those killed in terrorist acts and throughout Israel's wars. This day is observed annually on the 4th of the Hebrew month of Iyar, or on the preceding days, always immediately preceding Independence Day. This juxtaposition underscores the profound connection between the ultimate sacrifice of the fallen soldiers and the sovereignty of the State of Israel.
