The EAJC and the Hillel Movement Have Agreed to Expand Their Cooperation

Today (Tuesday), a meeting was held in Herzliya between the President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, Mikhail Mirilashvili, and the President of the Hillel movement, former Congressman Eric Fingerhut. Mr. Fingerhut expressed his gratitude to Mr. Mirilashvili for his contribution to the development of Jewish communities overall, and to the initiatives of the Hillel movement in particular. During the meeting, the President of Hillel outlined the organization's activities and goals, proposing closer cooperation with the EAJC.

The President of the EAJC thanked Mr. Fingerhut for his visit and emphasized that Hillel's work with Jewish youth is invaluable. "The work you do for Jewish youth is outstanding, and the results achieved by Hillel are highly impressive. We would be pleased to support your activities and collaborate within the Euro-Asian region," noted Mr. Mirilashvili.

Furthermore, the President of the EAJC pointed out that "at present, US President Trump is one of Israel's greatest friends. However, he does not enjoy the support of American Jewry. This is a situation that must be addressed."

The EAJC and Hillel plan to jointly implement the following projects:

The Vkonnekte project, which aims to identify new participants for Hillel programs and integrate them into Jewish communal life. Hosting the Summer Forum Hillel CASE will increase motivation and empower young Jewish leaders to take an active role in developing the communal life of their respective regions.

The Hillel CASE Madrichim School will train Jewish youth, enhancing their group leadership knowledge and skills to increase the number of qualified madrichim, who in turn will be capable of creating new programs and projects for Jewish communities.

Educational Shabbatons will foster students' interest in Jewish knowledge, strengthen their connection to Israel, facilitate professional exchange, and support initiatives aimed at developing diaspora life.

It is worth noting that in 2017, the EAJC supported the "Rod'N'ya" project — an educational program targeting young leaders, which provides an opportunity to explore family history and contribute to the growth and strengthening of community life.

Hillel is a global student movement and the largest Jewish youth organization in the world, facilitating the revival of Jewish life through engagement with the history, culture, and traditions of the Jewish people. The movement's objective is to foster a new generation of educated and enlightened Jews who take pride in their heritage.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress was established in 2002 and currently represents dozens of Jewish communities across the Euro-Asian continent. The primary mission of the EAJC is to support Jewish communities, strengthen the connection between the Diaspora and Israel, and mitigate assimilation by educating the younger generation on the values and traditions of the Jewish people.
