The EAJC extends its congratulations to the President and the Prime Minister of India on the occasion of Independence Day

News

EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili extended his congratulations to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.

The congratulatory letter states in particular:

“The relations between our nations and peoples are developing dynamically and growing stronger over time. We witnessed clear evidence of this a month ago when the leaders of our countries (together with the US President and the Sheikh of the United Arab Emirates) signed an agreement of intent to cooperate in food security, renewable energy, technology, and trade. We particularly appreciate India's commitment to participating in the global initiative aimed at reducing food waste and environmental pollution, conserving freshwater, and utilizing renewable energy sources. Analysts view this alliance as a well-considered initiative with genuine potential for innovation, business, and maintaining global order in the Middle East and South Asia. May these intentions be successfully realized.”

In 2019, the Euro-Asian Jewish Studies Institute conducted a comprehensive study on the composition of the Jewish community in India. The findings of the study are available here.
