The EAJC extends its congratulations on the occasion of Passover

Dear Friends,

On the night of the Passover Seder, we will once again gather around the festive table and recite the words that Jews have repeated for millennia: "In every generation, there are those who rise against us to destroy us, but the Holy One, Blessed be He, delivers us from their hands." These words have never been a mere ritual. They have always served as both a living memory and a living prophecy, and this holds especially true today.

We welcome this Passover at a time when Israel is fighting for its freedom against one of the threats that have loomed over the Jewish state for decades. The regime that consistently declared the destruction of the Jewish state as its goal, whose missiles have struck our cities, and whose nuclear weapons could have posed an existential threat—this regime, with G-d's help, will no longer pose the same danger. This is a continuation of the very thread that stretches from Egypt through the desert—through all the "Egypts" of our history—toward freedom.

Passover teaches us that liberation from slavery is not a single, instantaneous event. It is a journey. First, we must find the resolve to leave. Then, we must cross the parting sea. This is followed by forty years in the desert. We are currently on this journey. Behind us are the waves that sought to engulf us. Ahead lies a challenging path, yet it is a path toward a safer future, free from fear.

On this festive night, I wish each of you the warmth of the Passover Seder alongside those you love. I wish Israel the peace it rightfully deserves, and our people the freedom for which we left Egypt—not only physical, but spiritual as well.
