The EAJC expresses its condolences to the families of the victims of the plane crash in Kazakhstan

An aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed a few kilometers from the Kazakh airport of Aktau, to which it had been diverted due to adverse weather conditions. There were 69 individuals on board; official reports indicate 38 fatalities. Potential causes under consideration include a bird strike, technical malfunction, or a military-related incident.
The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured in the crash.
EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili stated:
"No one can remain indifferent in the face of a tragedy that has claimed the lives of innocent individuals. The aircraft was carrying citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Azerbaijan at the time of the disaster, many of whom perished.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost their loved ones today. May G-d grant them comfort."
