The EAJC expresses condolences on the passing of the President of the UAE

News

The leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) extends its sincere condolences to the people of the United Arab Emirates, the federal government, and the family of the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the passing of His Highness at the age of 73.

The passing of the UAE ruler represents a profound loss for the state and all its citizens. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was an outstanding statesman who secured his legacy in the history of the entire Middle East, notably through his active engagement in the historic Abraham Accords. These accords enabled the normalization and strengthening of relations between several Arab nations and the State of Israel, transforming once-implausible concepts into reality and initiating a new chapter for the region.

The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, characterized the late Sheikh as a courageous leader who worked tirelessly to foster partnership between our nations. We echo these sentiments. The contribution of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the transformative shifts in the region remains invaluable.

"The President of the UAE was an exceptionally influential leader who elevated his nation to global prominence. I am confident that his wise governance, the powerful momentum he imparted to the development of his nation, and his extensive benevolent acts will serve as an enduring legacy for future generations," stated EAJC President Dr. Mikhael Mirilashvili in an official message to the leadership of the UAE.
