The Representative Office of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress in Russia, in cooperation with the Russian Union of Jewish Students (RUJS) and the Israeli job-seeking platform Jobplanner, organized an online meeting with journalist, lawyer, political scientist, and Middle East expert Mark Novikov. The discussion was titled "Duty officer for Israel — an objective perspective on domestic life in the country: social agenda, challenges, and prospects."
The event was attended by students and young professionals from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and other Russian cities, as well as young Israelis.
Mark Novikov, widely recognized for his popular Russian-language Telegram channel about Israel, "Duty officer for Israel," delivered a comprehensive and insightful analysis of contemporary Israel. He addressed present and future challenges, the relationship between religion and state, and presented a social profile of the country. Furthermore, he outlined the role of trade unions and monopolies, and discussed various aspects of the Israeli political system.
In response to numerous inquiries from the audience, Mr. Novikov also addressed the current epidemiological situation in Israel and its economic impact, the potential reopening of borders for foreign citizens, and progress in vaccine development. Additionally, he discussed the high-tech sector and other high-income fields in Israel, and evaluated the professional value of foreign versus domestic academic degrees.
