The IASER has launched "Jewish Discourse", a new podcast

The Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies (IEAJS) has launched a new audio project focusing on Israel and the Jewish diaspora in the Euro-Asian region: “Jewish Discourse”. In a podcast format, researchers specialising in the history, culture, and socio-political heritage of the Jewish diaspora analyse the impact of social and political factors on Jewish communities in specific countries, while also assessing Israel's role in these dynamics. Discussion topics are based on academic papers published on the Institute's website.

The initial episodes of the “Jewish Discourse” podcast explored the role of “Jewish issues” in military conflicts across the post-Soviet space (presented by IEAJS Academic Director Prof. Ze'ev Khanin), the “politicisation” of the Russian Jewish community (by political scientist Pyotr Oskolkov), the significance of Yiddish literature (by IEAJS Publishing Director Dr. Velvl Chernin), and Jewish community life in Iran (by Orientalist Dr. Vladimir Mesamed).

The Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies (IEAJS) is a project of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC). It serves as a think-tank and platform for academic and professional communication among leading experts on Jewish communities in the former USSR, Eastern Europe, the Balkans, as well as West, Central, and East Asia. The Institute's mission is to conduct academic and applied research into the contemporary status of Jewish communities in these regions, examining them in the context of host countries' socio-political climates, relationships with the State of Israel and regional powers, migration trends, and their historical, cultural, and socio-political heritage.

IEAJS actively collaborates with researchers of the regional Jewish diaspora and invites partners of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and its member communities to participate in the project. The Institute welcomes assistance in conducting research, identifying authors, gathering research materials, developing proposals, and presenting its publications.
