Bialik’s 150th Anniversary: The Unique Character of His Poetry

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Jewish poet, Hayim Nahman Bialik.

We present to your attention a video recording of the presentation which took place in January last year. The event marked the release of the compilation "Songs and Poems," featuring Bialik's poetry translated into Russian by Jabotinsky.

The collection was first published in 1911 and made a profound impact on the reading public. Within a short period, seven reprints were released, with a total circulation of tens of thousands of copies. In 2021, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, as part of the EAJC Library project, supported the re-edition of the compilation by the Babel.Books.Tel-Aviv publishing house, featuring an afterword by Zoya Kopelman.
