The President of the EAJC Sent His Congratulations to the President and Prime Minister of India on the Occasion of Independence Day

The President of the EAJC, Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, has extended his congratulations to the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India's Independence Day.

The congratulatory letter states in particular:

“On behalf of all the leaders of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, please accept my sincere congratulations on the Independence Day of India, along with my best wishes for the prosperity and well-being of your nation.

In many respects, India is a very special place, particularly regarding its history from ancient times to the present day. It is equally fair to say this about several Jewish communities in India, which possess an ancient and highly fascinating history. We deeply appreciate the attentive attitude toward Jewish communities and are grateful for your maintenance of core relations with the State of Israel, making India one of Israel's key global allies today.

We recognize that India is currently navigating challenging times in its fight against the pandemic, and we wish you a swift recovery from this crisis.
