The President of the EAJC Met with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Israel

The President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Israel, Mukhtar Mammadov. The talks took place at the EAJC President's office in Herzliya. The parties discussed the achievements and prospects of cultural and business relations between Baku and Jerusalem, as well as the potential visit of a high-level Congress delegation to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, a monograph report by the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies (IEAJS) titled "The Jews of Azerbaijan and the Mountain Jewish Diaspora at the Turn of the Second and Third Decades of the 21st Century" was presented. The publication examines the Jewish community of Azerbaijan and the Mountain Jewish diaspora in Russia, Israel, and other countries. The authors of the work are Dr. Velvl Chernin, Director of IEAJS Publishing Projects, Professor Ze'ev Khanin, Academic Director of IEAJS, and Professor Valery Dymshits, member of the Institute's Academic Council.

"For many years, the EAJC has been actively involved in advancing the communal life of Azerbaijani Jewry and contributing to the strengthening of Israeli-Azerbaijani cooperation. Concurrently, analyzing the current state of affairs and researching the social and cultural heritage of Jewish diaspora communities are among the key focus areas of the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies operating under the auspices of the EAJC," the EAJC President commented on the release of the study.
