Under the auspices of the EAJC, the collection "History. Memory. People" has been published in Kazakhstan.

The "Mitsva" Association of Jewish National Organizations of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), has published the latest volume of the academic journal "History. Memory. People" focusing on the history of Jews during World War II in the Euro-Asian region. The publication, compiled from the proceedings of the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "History. Memory. People" held in September 2024, is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.

The publication offers a comprehensive study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Jewish people, exploring its connections to significant events and figures across Eurasia. The compilers placed particular emphasis on preserving historical memory, interpreting cultural and scientific contributions, and analyzing unique archival materials related to repressions and key turning points of twentieth-century history.

In the foreword to the edition, EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili highlighted the contribution of the "History. Memory. People" conference in addressing historical gaps regarding one of the critical chapters in the region's modern history.

"Though it represents such a brief historical period, so much remains unstudied and unresolved. It lasted a mere six years, yet human history was forever divided into before and after. Today, as the clouds of antagonism and hostility gather over the world once again, the horrific events of World War II and their rigorous study must serve as a solemn warning to us all.

We are duty-bound to remember and to continuously remind others of the consequences of state-sponsored hatred and dehumanization. Yet, amidst these grim lessons, we must also highlight the uplifting stories of that era: the acts of humanity and the helping hands extended to Jews fleeing those atrocities," Mirilashvili stated.

The volume is intended for historians, cultural scholars, researchers of interethnic relations, as well as students and faculty in the social and political sciences.
