Within the framework of the Lviv Book Forum, the book “Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn” by Dr. Daniel Gordis was presented, followed by a discussion entitled “Rebirth of a Nation: Israel's Lessons for Ukraine.”

The panel discussion featured the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the State of Israel Yevgen Korniychuk, President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine Boris Lozhkin, Director General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Haim Ben Yakov, founder of the Ostrogski Princes Charitable Foundation Yuriy Lutsenko, and founder of the “Nash Format” publishing house Vladislav Kirichenko.

The book is the inaugural publication in the “Jewish Library” series, established by the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, and the Ostrogski Princes Foundation of the Yuriy and Iryna Lutsenko family. The “Jewish Library” series will publish the first Ukrainian translations of prominent global works on Israel and its most distinguished figures.

According to Boris Lozhkin, President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine and First Vice-President of the EAJC, the book “Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn,” which launched the series with the “Nash Format” publishing house, offers the most comprehensive yet concise account of the creation of one of the world's most successful modern states, a nation whose emergence and development are directly linked to individuals originating from Ukraine.

The next book in the series will be “My Life” by Kyiv-native and fourth Prime Minister of Israel Golda Meir. By the end of the year, another book, “MOSSAD: The Greatest Missions of the Israeli Secret Service,” will be released under the “Jewish Library” imprint.
