News

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Israel Satybaldy Burshakov delivered a lecture at Tel Aviv University (TAU), outlining the ongoing socio-political processes in his country. The Kazakh diplomatic delegation's visit, led by the Ambassador, was initiated by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC). The event was attended by TAU students and faculty members.
During the lecture, Ambassador Burshakov briefed the academic community on the constitutional reforms initiated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The head of the diplomatic mission emphasized the "irreversible nature of Kazakhstan's course toward progressive democratization and comprehensive socio-political transformation." He noted that the Jewish community of Kazakh emigrants in Israel serves as a "golden bridge" of friendship between the states. Additionally, prospects for academic engagement between the two nations were discussed with TAU leadership.
The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress consistently fosters active dialogue between Kazakhstan and Israel through public diplomacy initiatives and academic cooperation. As part of these efforts, a high-level EAJC delegation attended the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana in September 2022.
Throughout the past three decades, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has regarded Kazakhstan as a pivotal region for its activities. Over these 30 years, the Jewish community of the Republic of Kazakhstan has achieved significant progress in reviving Jewish life in the country. The leadership of the EAJC commends the development of the Jewish community, remains committed to supporting its prosperity, and expresses gratitude to the leadership of the Republic for supporting Jewish life and building bridges between representatives of diverse religions and cultures.
Over their 30 years of cooperation, Israel and Kazakhstan have attained a high level of engagement in political, economic, trade, and cultural spheres. The party states collaborate actively within the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Trade and economic relations represent a key pillar of bilateral cooperation between Israel and Kazakhstan. Direct Israeli investments in the economy of Kazakhstan reached $33 million in 2021.
