The Negev Commemorates the Contribution of Repatriate Scientists in Cooperation with the EAJC

A formal ceremony honoring immigrant scientists from the former Soviet Union who made significant contributions to the advancement of Israeli science was held at the Repatriated Scientists' Grove Memorial Park in Kibbutz Ruhama in the Northern Negev.

The event was organized by the Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC). The ceremony was attended by EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili, prominent Israeli chemist and former Rector of Ariel University Professor Mikhail Zinigrad, Academic Director of the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies (IEAJS) Professor Ze'ev Khanin, Major General (Ret.) of the Israel Defense Forces, Chairman of the Israel Space Agency and founder of the National Cyber Security Authority Professor Isaac Ben-Israel, EAJC Director General Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Congress Treasurer Menachem Bushuev, KKL-JNF Deputy Chairman Robert Tiviaev, and KKL-JNF Deputy Director General Roni Vinnikov.

The scientists participating in the formal ceremony were presented with certificates of appreciation on behalf of the leadership of the EAJC and KKL-JNF. The organizers highlighted the profound impact of immigrant scientists on the academic sphere of the Jewish state and committed to continuing to honor their achievements in this symbolically significant location.

Planted by the Jewish National Fund, the Repatriated Scientists' Grove was established in 2021 with the generous support of the EAJC in recognition of the outstanding contributions of immigrant scientists to the development of Israeli science.
