On August 24, 1994, 27 years ago, the inaugural conference was held establishing the Sefer Center. The organization became a member of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress almost immediately and remains an integral part of it to this day. The EAJC congratulates the leadership of the Sefer Center and the participants of its numerous programs.
"Sefer plays a major role in the modern Jewish world, conducting extensive and unique work both from a scientific perspective and in terms of community building. The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is pleased to support the Sefer Center and its projects," said EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili.
The Sefer Center was established in 1994 to promote scientific research in the field of Jewish studies and the teaching of Jewish disciplines in higher education institutions, as well as to provide comprehensive support to students, graduate students, and academics in studying various aspects of Jewish studies. The center unites everyone involved in the research of Jewish civilization.
Today, Sefer is one of the leading organizations in the post-Soviet space, focused on developing all aspects of academic Jewish studies and exploring the heritage and contemporary status of Jewish communities.
