The Sefer Center will present the latest releases from its publishing program

On June 9 at 19:00, the "Sefer" Center for University Teaching of Jewish Civilization, in cooperation with the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will present its latest publications at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow. The presentation will feature prominent international scholars and specialists in history, philology, biblical studies, Slavic studies, and Jewish studies from universities in the United States, Israel, and Russia. The program includes the presentation of the latest issues of the peer-reviewed Judaic-Slavic Journal, dedicated to Siberian and Belarusian Jewry; the new volume of the yearbook "Slavic Culture and Jewish Culture: Dialogue, Similarities, Differences"; the 21st volume of the yearbook "Tirosh: Studies in Judaica, Slavica, and Oriental Studies"; and collections of field materials gathered during expeditions in Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, and Latvia. 

The speakers include Olga Belova, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies (RAS) and Editor-in-Chief of the "Slavic Culture and Jewish Culture" yearbook; Maria Kaspina, Associate Professor at the Center for Biblical and Jewish Studies (RSUH), Researcher at the Museum of the History of Jews in Russia, and Research and Publication Projects Coordinator at the "Sefer" Center; Irina Kopchenova, Educational Programs Coordinator at the "Sefer" Center, Junior Researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies (RAS), and Managing Editor of the "Tirosh" yearbook; Mikhail Krutikov, Professor at the University of Michigan and Editor-in-Chief of the Judaic-Slavic Journal; Victoria Mochalova, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies (RAS), Academic Director of the "Sefer" Center, and Editor-in-Chief of the Judaic-Slavic Journal, among others.

The event will be moderated by Svetlana Amosova, Director of the Research Center at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, Junior Researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies (RAS), and Managing Editor of the Judaic-Slavic Journal. 

The "Sefer" Center was established in 1994 to facilitate academic research in Jewish studies, support the teaching of Jewish disciplines in higher education, and provide comprehensive assistance to students, graduate students, and academics. The Center serves as an umbrella organization for researchers of Jewish civilization. Shortly after its founding, the organization became a full member of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

Currently, "Sefer" is one of the leading organizations in the post-Soviet space dedicated to advancing all aspects of academic Jewish studies and preserving the heritage and modern legacy of Jewish communities. 

Over the years, the "Sefer" Center has published several monograph series dedicated to Jewish history and culture, their interaction with other cultures, the preservation of Jewish cultural heritage, and the sociological study of contemporary Jewish communities.
