Chisinau Hosted the 5th Limmud Moldova 2019 International Conference

The 5th Limmud Moldova 2019 International Conference in Chisinau brought together over 300 participants from Moldova, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Israel, France, the USA, and other countries.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, Alexander Bilinkis, Vice President of the EAJC, welcomed the organizers and participants on behalf of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and emphasized the importance and effectiveness of the cooperation between the Jewish Community of Moldova and the EAJC.

"Limmud Moldova 2019" offered participants an intensive and diverse program: seminars, lectures, workshops, and panel discussions covered a wide range of topics, from the history of Moldovan Jews to religious debates and creative encounters.

Within the framework of the conference, Prof. Ze'ev Khanin, head of the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies operating under the auspices of the EAJC, presented the results of a major new study on "The Portrait of the Jewish Population in the Post-Soviet Space," focusing specifically on the Jews of Moldova.

The conference's specialized program for children and teenagers aged 6-17 was prepared by certified teachers and educators with the involvement of an experienced team from the "Nesharim" Jewish community camp, which is held annually with the support of the EAJC. This summer, "Nesharim" brought together over a hundred children from various regions of Moldova.

The Limmud Conference, presided over by Aaron G. Frenkel, Chairman of the EAJC Board, is hosted across the Euro-Asian region with the support of the EAJC.

Limmud represents a celebration of Jewish intellect and spirit, providing an excellent venue for networking, establishing new friendships, and fostering business contacts.
