The Embassy of Israel has been officially opened in Moldova

An Israeli Embassy has officially opened in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova. The formal inauguration ceremony was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Israel and Moldova, Gideon Sa'ar and Mihai Popșoi.

Announcing the opening of the official diplomatic mission, the head of Israeli diplomacy described the event as a “historic milestone and a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations.” He recalled Moldova’s steadfast support for Israel following the terror attack of October 7: “In the wake of the most brutal assault on Jewish people since the Holocaust, Moldova stood firmly by our side. It condemned the heinous, barbaric terror of Hamas and unequivocally recognized Israel’s fundamental right to self-defense.”

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) warmly welcomes the opening of the Israeli Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, anticipating new opportunities for cooperation between our states and further development of the local Jewish community.

President of the EAJC Dr. Michael Mirilashvili noted:

“The leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress views the opening of the Israeli Embassy in the Republic of Moldova as a pivotal opportunity to enhance bilateral relations and reinforce the connection between the local Jewish community and the State of Israel.
