From July 7 to July 11, the Hillel CASE Professional Development University took place in Odessa, supported by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. The PDU is a specialized development program for directors, program and educational coordinators, administrators, and other staff members of Hillel chapters within the region (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan).
The event has also become a benchmark meeting, allowing Hillel activists to review past performance and map out future objectives. This year, for the first time in two years, the youth organization leaders were able to meet in person to discuss Hillel's operations during the remote period, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of such a format, draw conclusions, highlight successful case studies, plan the upcoming calendar year, and design a series of new regional and local initiatives.
Osif Akselrud, Regional Director of Hillel CASE, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the EAJC for their ongoing support of the organization.
“At the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, we are convinced of the fundamental role the younger generation plays in preserving Jewish heritage and fostering Jewish life within the Euro-Asian region. We are pleased to facilitate the capacity-building efforts of Hillel students,” stated EAJC President Dr. Mikhael Mirilashvili.
