The EAJC General Assembly has concluded its session in Ramat Gan.

President and the Commission

On July 25, the Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) concluded its session in Ramat Gan, Israel.

Temur Ben Yehuda, German Zakharyaev, Rami Levy, and David Yakobashvili were confirmed as First Vice-Presidents of the Congress. The newly elected Vice-Presidents of the Congress are Alexander Bilinkis, Emmanuil Grinshpun, Alexander Levin, Itzik Michaeli, Maxim Pasik, Mark Shabat, Alexander Shenkman, and Merab Elashvili.

Pursuant to the new Charter, the delegates formed the individual membership of the new governing body of the Congress—the Board.

Aaron Frenkel, a prominent entrepreneur actively involved in Jewish community projects, including those in the post-Soviet space and Eastern Europe, was elected Chairman of the Board.

The Executive Committee, an operational management body overseeing the activities of the Congress, was also established.

Furthermore, new structural bodies of the EAJC were approved, namely the Strategic Council, the International Commission, and the Program Commission.  The Strategic Council is headed by Mikhail Chlenov, and the Program Commission by Iosif Zisels. Haim Ben Yakov was confirmed as Acting Chairman of the International Commission. He has also assumed the duties of Director General of the Congress.

The EGA of the EAJC also adopted several resolutions on current socio-political issues, specifically: "On the Situation Surrounding the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem," "On the Anti-Israel Stance of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)," and "On the Issue of Antisemitism in the Modern World." The texts of these resolutions will also be published on the website.
