The upcoming monument in Jerusalem is titled "Candle of Remembrance." This is also the name of a commemorative campaign held in St. Petersburg on January 27, marking the anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the siege. On this day, residents turn off their lights and place a lit candle in their windows to honor the memory of those who lived through and defended besieged Leningrad.

Concurrently, the international community observes International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27. On this occasion, Jewish communities likewise light memorial candles in solemn tribute. We stand together in our shared grief.

Honoring the past is defined by our actions today. The "Candle of Remembrance" in Jerusalem serves not only as a monument to history but also as a vital reminder of the enduring fragility of peace.
