An exhibition dedicated to the Holocaust opens in Serbia

In collaboration with Yad Vashem, the Historical Archives, and the Jewish Community of Novi Sad, an exhibition dedicated to Holocaust Memorial Day in Serbia has opened in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.

The exhibition was presented in Bečej, Zrenjanin, and Kikinda throughout June. With the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, it will also be showcased in other cities across the region and at the "Mahar 2019" conference, the annual gathering of Balkan Jewish communities.

The exhibition focuses on the key historical aspects of the Holocaust, commencing with an overview of Jewish life in Europe prior to World War II and concluding with the liberation of Nazi concentration camps across the continent and the rehabilitation of Holocaust survivors.

"This timely exhibition serves as a reminder of the grave potential danger posed by rising antisemitism. We at the EAJC highly value the fruitful cooperation between the Jewish communities of Serbia and the Yad Vashem Memorial Complex, which is sure to leave a profound impression on everyone," stated EAJC President Mikhael Mirilashvili.
