The Inspiring Autumn Season of the All-Russian Union of Jewish Students

The Russian Union of Jewish Students (RUJS) was established in 2015 on the initiative of Shota Mirilashvili, head of the MGIMO Israeli Students Union (Jewish Club). From its inception, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has served as the key partner of this young organization.

"We gladly and proudly support the innovative initiatives of RUJS leaders who discover creative and original approaches to working with the student community. Fostering and reinforcing the Jewish student brotherhood is among the pillar areas of EAJC activity," stated EAJC Director General Dr. Chaim Ben Yakov.

The Russian Union of Jewish Students currently unites 17 university-based Jewish clubs, providing comprehensive support to the development of the Jewish student community in Russia.

On November 8, the MSU Jewish Club, supported by RUJS, represented Jewish culture and the State of Israel at the MSU School of Public Administration during the Day of National Cultures. A diverse selection of Jewish and Israeli cuisine, alongside a creative performance of "Shma Israel," was warmly received by the audience.

RUJS dedicates substantial efforts to preserving the historical memory of the Jewish people. On October 31, the youth held their third meeting with former ghetto and Nazi concentration camp survivors, as part of a joint initiative between the Russian Union of Jewish Students (RUJS) and the Moscow Public Organization of Jews - Former Ghetto and Nazi Concentration Camp Survivors (MPOUGiK).

RUJS was co-organizer of the International Youth Conference "World War II: Truth for the Sake of Peace," held from November 6 to 9 in Moscow at the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The conference gathered young historians, educators, political figures, representatives of public, student, and youth organizations, as well as media professionals from 27 regions of Russia and 21 foreign states. At the invitation of RUJS, delegates from international youth Jewish organizations in Europe and Israel attended the event.

RUJS is fully integrated into the dynamic life of the global Jewish student community. On November 6-8, Union leaders hosted a Moscow delegation of foreign partners from the World Union of Jewish Students and the European Union of Jewish Students. Additionally, RUJS representatives participated in the International Youth Shabbaton, which took place in Rome on November 8-10.

The Russian Union of Jewish Students assists students in successfully shaping their professional future. The EAJC welcomes the new agreement signed between RUJS and the Israeli-Russian Business Council to launch fruitful cooperation. Key joint initiatives will include a series of lectures delivered by leading Israeli and Russian experts to students at Moscow and regional universities.
