On the Importance of Interfaith Dialogue

The EAJC unequivocally states that Israel's war against Hamas is not a war against Islam. The State of Israel is founded on the principles of respect for individual liberty and freedom of worship. Numerous Arab-Muslim citizens of Israel actively participate in all spheres of public life, occupy the highest offices, combat terrorism, and serve in the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Police.

The EAJC opposes attempts to artificially frame the existence of the Jewish state and the relations between Jews and Arabs as an irreconcilable religious conflict.

The EAJC remains convinced that Islam, like other Abrahamic religions, is built upon the ideals of peace, cooperation, and mutual respect.

The EAJC asserts that fundamentalist groups of any ideology, driven by radical hatred and religious fanaticism that justifies violence and murder, have no place in the modern world.

The EAJC emphasizes that Hamas, as a radical Islamic group and a proxy of the totalitarian Iranian regime, poses a severe threat to security and stability not only for the State of Israel and the Middle East, but for the entire international community.

The EAJC believes in the power of interfaith dialogue and actively works to foster relations among representatives of the world's major religions.

The EAJC supports the State of Israel’s commitment to peace and its openness to peaceful dialogue and cooperation with any forces in the region that recognize the Jewish state and its right to national self-determination.

The EAJC underlines the critical importance of the established regional relations between the State of Israel and the nations of the Arab world that oppose radical Islam and choose the path of peace, stability, and prosperity.

The EAJC urges all parties to continue dialogue, maintain respectful rhetoric, and preserve and further develop regional cooperation.
