The Annual Mahar Conference

The Mahar Conference is convened annually in Montenegro. Each year, the event attracts over 300 participants representing the Jewish communities of Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia. The conference is organized by the Jewish Community of Montenegro under the auspices of the EAJC.

Primarily, "Mahar" serves as an essential platform for fostering connections among Jews residing in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. These communities, often under-resourced, can frequently experience a sense of isolation from the wider Jewish world. The annual conference provides these groups with a vital sense of belonging to the global Jewish community, thereby strengthening their cohesion. Additionally, the "Mahar" conference offers a distinguishing opportunity to experience a diverse cultural program.
