How will the war affect the standing of the Russian language within the Jewish diaspora?

Russia's war against Ukraine affects not only the Jewish populations of those countries, but also Jewish communities across the post-Soviet space and, moreover, communities of emigrants from the former USSR in Israel, North America, and Europe.

How will the migration and cultural shifts triggered by the war impact Jewish identity? What role will the Russian language play in these changes? Will it remain the primary language of Jews from the post-Soviet region?

Guest: Professor of Sociology Ze'ev Khanin, Academic Director of the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies.
