Special Edition: In Memory of Mikhail Chlenov, a Historic Figure (1940-2024)

On August 7, 2024, Mikhail Anatolyevich Chlenov passed away. He was a prominent Soviet and Russian ethnographer, orientalist, public figure, PhD in Historical Sciences, professor, and the author of two monographs and approximately 150 scientific publications addressing various issues in ethnography, linguistics, sociology, and related disciplines.

Mikhail Anatolyevich Chlenov’s achievements are extensive. However, the most significant among them is undoubtedly his involvement in the independent Jewish national movement—initially in the USSR, and subsequently in Russia. His leadership roles in this field include serving as Vice President of the World Jewish Congress, member of the Presidium of the World Zionist Organization, and co-founder of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

Our guest is Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Director General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.
