The EAJC congratulates the people of Israel on Independence Day

News

Dear Friends,

Today, the State of Israel marks the 78th anniversary of its independence. We observe this Yom Ha'atzmaut after years that have reminded each of us of the heavy price paid for independence, and of the incredibly thin line between memorial day and celebration — a boundary that our nation crosses annually within these two days. Yet, this is precisely where Israel's strength lies: in the relentless ability to rise again and rebuild. This is the uniqueness of the Israeli character — marked by the perseverance, ingenuity, and diversity of its people, perspectives, and ideas. Under no circumstances must we lose these unique national traits.

On this day, on behalf of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, I wish the State of Israel the strength, accountability, and wisdom to overcome internal and external challenges, as well as divisions, and to emerge from these times of crisis as an even stronger and more resilient nation and state.

Chag Atzmaut Sameach!

Michael Mirilashvili, President of the EAJC
