Aaron Frenkel Appointed Vice President of the World Jewish Congress

Businessman and philanthropist Aaron Frenkel has been elected Vice President of the World Jewish Congress (WJC).

Frenkel's candidacy was proposed by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, led by Russian-Israeli businessman and philanthropist Michael Mirilashvili. Six months prior, Frenkel assumed the position of Chairman of the Governing Board of the EAJC.  Furthermore, since the late 1980s, he has owned Loyd’s Group of Companies, which invests in aviation and aerospace, real estate, energy, and high technology. He also serves as President of Limmud FSU.

For his support of socially significant projects worldwide, Frenkel has been awarded the French Legion of Honour, the Knight of the Order of Grimaldi by the Prince of Monaco, and the honorary title of "Philanthropist of Russia." In December of last year, he was also honored with the Yakir Keren Hayesod award.

Aaron Frenkel stated: "It is a great honor to be elected Vice President of the World Jewish Congress, the leading international organization representing the Jewish people globally. This is not only an honor but also a profound responsibility, as Jewish communities worldwide face diverse and often complex challenges today. In my new capacity, I will continue to exert every effort for the development and prosperity of the Jewish people."
