Russian national teams secured two gold medals at the European Maccabi Games

Both Maccabi Russia basketball teams across two age divisions claimed gold medals at the European Maccabi Games, held in Budapest from June 29 to August 7.

“We are proud of the achievements of Jewish athletes from the Euro-Asian region and congratulate our teams on their outstanding victory in the team matches. Having served as President of Maccabi Russia for 25 years, I can attest that the Russian delegation has consistently been among the strongest, both in Europe and at the global Maccabiah Games,” stated Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

The 15th European Maccabi Games in Budapest emerged as the largest multi-sport event in Hungary, as well as the most prominent European Maccabi gathering, drawing approximately 3,000 competitors from 42 nations.
