The EAJC is to provide support to Israeli chess players

The EAJC wishes a happy Sukkot to all friends who align their lives with the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

In ancient times, Sukkot was one of the three pilgrimage festivals during which Jews journeyed to Jerusalem. Thousands of Israelites gathered in the Temple courtyard and resided in sukkahs—booths in which farmers lived during the harvest, and in which the Israelites dwelt in the wilderness following the Exodus from Egyptian bondage.

Jewish unity is a central theme of the Sukkot holiday, and the "Four Species" that we hold—the etrog (citron), lulav (palm frond), hadass (myrtle branches), and aravah (willow branches)—symbolize different types of Jewish people.

By holding and blessing them together, we strive for the unity of the Jewish people, transcending all differences between us. The holiday of Sukkot teaches that by embracing one another, regardless of our strengths and weaknesses, we achieve joy and resilience.
