Dear Friends,
On behalf of the leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, we extend our warmest wishes for a happy Hanukkah.
Beyond the light we bring into the world with Hanukkah candles, the holiday fundamentally symbolizes the miracles that occurred during our Maccabean ancestors' struggle to preserve Jewish values and religious freedom.
In Jewish tradition, miracles are understood as divine governance over the universe and God's intervention in human affairs. A key aspect of this intervention is that it actively involves human agency, often to the extent that it may seem to the participants as though no supernatural event occurred, but rather that the outcome was solely the result of their own efforts.
We are proud to have gathered within the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress a remarkable network of Jewish communities and organizations. Through their dedicated daily efforts for the benefit of the Jewish people, they consistently bring about small, yet deeply meaningful, miracles.
We wish to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for your invaluable work and to wish the Jewish community a bright and joyful Hanukkah. To a world currently holding its breath in anticipation of relief during these challenging times, we hope this holiday of miracles brings the transition we all pray for.
Let us unite to bring the light of Hanukkah into the world. Chag Sameach!
