The EAJC presents the "Day of Mourning and Heroism" project

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) presents the musical and video tribute "Day of Sorrow and Heroism."

The project honors the memory of Holocaust victims during World War II, as well as those who lost their lives at the hands of Hamas terrorists in the war initiated on October 7, 2023, following the treacherous attack by terrorists from the Gaza Strip on communities in southern Israel. The concept for the musical composition was conceived by violinist and composer Alexander Povolotsky, whose career includes tenure with the Bolshoi Theatre, the USSR State Symphony Orchestra, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Resident in Israel since 1990, Alexander currently serves as the director of the "Tel Aviv Virtuosi" ensemble of soloists from the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

The screenplay and direction of the video are by Maxim Kolyshev, a finalist of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the world's most prestigious advertising awards. He immigrated to Israel in 2023.
