The EAJC welcomes the decision of the Kosovo authorities to designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization

Terrorist attacks orchestrated by Hezbollah militants with the financial and moral backing of Iran have claimed dozens of lives across various continents over the decades. Despite this, some leading international organizations, including the UN, still refuse to designate Hezbollah as an organization pursuing terrorist aims.

Against this backdrop, the decision of the Kosovo authorities to align with the voice of reason and designate  Hezbollah as a terrorist organization commands profound respect.

Among the terrorist acts planned and executed by Hezbollah are the bombing of an Israeli tourist bus in Burgas, Bulgaria, and the bombings of the Israeli Embassy and the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, alongside other heinous crimes that have claimed dozens of innocent lives.

“The decision of the Kosovo authorities holds symbolic significance as we honor the memory of the victims of the 1994 bombing of the Jewish Center in Buenos Aires, which claimed 85 lives and wounded hundreds. Evidence strongly indicates that Hezbollah carried out this attack. We call upon governments and international organizations worldwide to unite in an  uncompromising fight against radicalism and extremism,” stated EAJC President Mikhail Mirilashvili.

EAJC Director General Chaim Ben Yakov added: “The United Nations has yet to unequivocally designate Hezbollah as a terrorist entity, continuing to differentiate between its political wing and its  militants, even though the leadership of Hezbollah itself views the organization as a single undivided entity. The political wing of Hezbollah continues to operate within the European Union, raising funds, recruiting new operatives, and disseminating antisemitic and extremist ideologies.”
