The EAJC calls on the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to take a stand against rising antisemitism

Concerned residents of Sarajevo have reported graffiti of a Nazi swastika on the wall of a city building to local media. Such acts of vandalism have become a typical manifestation of neo-Nazi sentiment in Bosnia today.

The public reaction clearly demonstrates the outright indignation of Bosnian citizens toward the appeals and activities of neo-Nazi groups. However, unlike many EU countries, the Bosnian authorities do not ban the use of Nazi symbols and do not restrict the activities of neo-Nazi groups in any way, allowing these antisemitic organizations to operate openly and disseminate their promotional materials to the public.

"We are deeply concerned by the growing neo-Nazi movement in Bosnia and call upon the state authorities to take a stand against this dangerous and shameful phenomenon," stated EAJC President Michael Mirilashvili.
