The EAJC calls upon the Jewish communities of the CIS to participate in the International Online Havdalah Ceremony

A large-scale virtual Havdalah ceremony, "Grand Havdalah FSU online," scheduled for October 17 at 19:00 Israel time, is supported by leading Jewish organizations, including the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), the Volunteer Community network, the CIS teen movement Active Jewish Teens (AJT), the JDC Leadership Alumni Program (LAP) network, BBYO, and the Genesis Philanthropy Group.

The primary objective of the online event is to bring together hundreds of members of Jewish communities across the CIS region. The program will feature a formal Havdalah ceremony to mark the end of the Sabbath, during which participants will perform the traditional rituals: lighting the multi-wick candle, blessing the wine, and sharing wishes for the upcoming week. The event will also feature several special presentations for all attendees.

Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Director General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress: "Amid the ongoing pandemic, which has significantly disrupted normal community activities, the EAJC remains committed to ensuring the continuity of Jewish tradition.
