The EAJC mourns the passing of Avraham Grinzaid

News

At the age of 98, Avraham Grinzaid, Chairman of the Association of World War II Veterans – Fighters Against Nazism, has passed away. The leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress received this news with deep sorrow and extends its sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable individual.

EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili personally expressed his condolences:

“As a Jewish soldier, Avraham served with distinction and extraordinary courage during the Second World War, heroically fighting and defeating a global evil with his own hands.

His life journey, his heroic resilience through some of the darkest chapters in human history, his steadfast spirit, valor, and enduring optimism served as an exemplary model for us in these challenging times.

We had the honor of collaborating with him and supporting him during his final years, which remained dedicated to active service for the veteran community. Until the very end, even at such an advanced age when most choose to retire, Avraham worked tirelessly. He taught us a great deal, and I am certain his legacy will continue to guide us.

May his distinguished and courageous life serve as a beacon and a source of light in moments of darkness for a long time to come.

May his memory be a blessing. Baruch Dayan HaEmet.”
