The EAJC mourns the passing of Mikhail (Misha) Libkin

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is deeply saddened by the passing of a colleague, friend, and fellow visionary, Head of the Moscow division of the ORT Jewish organization, Mikhail (Misha) Libkin, at the age of 42.

Mikhail Libkin was a prominent public figure whose professional activities played a key role in shaping contemporary Jewish community and educational life. He directed the Limmud educational project in Russia, transforming it into a highly influential intellectual and cultural platform that united generations and diverse perspectives around Jewish heritage, knowledge, and open dialogue. Through his leadership at ORT Russia, he also made a significant contribution to educational initiatives aimed at strengthening Jewish identity and passing on knowledge.

Mikhail possessed a rare combination of professionalism, vibrant energy, and genuine warmth. He had a unique ability to inspire, build consensus, and foster an environment of trust, respect, and shared purpose. To many, he was not only a colleague but a true friend, mentor, and a source of guidance and support.

His passing is a profound loss for the entire Jewish community, for his colleagues, and for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress extends its deepest and most sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, and colleagues of Mikhail Libkin.
