The EAJC expresses concern regarding the United Nations vote on the Iranian issue

The EAJC expresses its serious concern regarding the refusal of Germany, the United Kingdom, and France to support the United States' efforts to reinstate United Nations sanctions on Iran. Despite Israel repeatedly presenting evidence of numerous violations of the nuclear agreement by Tehran, this has failed to influence the decision of the European nations. It appears that Europe is willfully ignoring the fact that the Iranian nuclear deal currently exists solely on paper.

By rejecting the US request to trigger the snapback mechanism—which enables a party to the nuclear deal to pursue the reinstatement of multilateral sanctions against Iran that were lifted in 2015—and by refusing to impose an arms embargo, European nations have effectively aligned themselves with the Islamic Republic: a regime that denies the Holocaust and has declared the destruction of Jewry and the State of Israel as its official objective.

Iran's numerous proxies, such as Hamas and Hezbollah—whose explicit missions involve targeting Israel, its citizens, and Jewish communities worldwide, and which have grown significantly stronger since the signing of the agreement—will only be further empowered. Furthermore, Iran, having repeatedly supported terrorist organizations globally and partially curbed these activities solely due to financial constraints, will undoubtedly resume its sponsorship of international terrorism.

The EAJC leadership urges the parties to the Iranian nuclear deal to reconsider their stance, enact economic sanctions against the ayatollah regime, and halt all arms sales to Iran and its proxies. Failure to do so will inevitably make a substantial escalation of rocket attacks on Israeli cities and terrorist acts against Jewish citizens merely a matter of time, alongside further terrorist expansion funded by the Islamic Republic.
