The EAJC extends its condolences on the passing of the Mayor of Netanya, Miriam Feirberg.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) expresses its deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, colleagues, and residents of Netanya on the passing of the city's legendary mayor, Miriam Feirberg — one of the most prominent and influential figures in Israeli local government.

Born in Acre in 1951, Miriam Feirberg dedicated her entire life to public service. Raised in Netanya, she began her career as a social worker and later assumed leadership of the municipal social services department. From 1998 until her passing, she served as mayor, transforming Netanya into a symbol of modern, open, and rapidly developing Israel. Upon taking office, she made history as the country's first female mayor.

EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili sent a personal letter of condolence to Ms. Feirberg's family and loved ones, stating:

"I held the utmost respect for Miriam — for her humanity, strength of character, and the remarkable blend of professionalism with warmth and sincerity. Our cooperation and every interaction were invariably filled with emotion, purpose, and inspiration. Miriam was more than a mayor; she was an individual for whom serving her home city and the people of Israel was the very purpose of life. Her boundless devotion to Netanya and the Jewish nation will remain an exemplar for us all."
