The EAJC extends its condolences in connection with the terrorist attacks in the United States

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress expresses its sincere condolences to the people of the United States and the country's leadership following the horrific attack on New Year's Eve revelers in downtown New Orleans. An armed assailant rammed a vehicle into the crowd before opening fire on bystanders. Fifteen people were killed, and more than thirty sustained injuries.

The attacker has been identified as a United States citizen from Texas and a U.S. Army veteran. His motives remain unclear.

Subsequently, on the morning of January 1, a vehicle exploded in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The occupant of the vehicle was killed, and seven others sustained minor injuries.

The FBI is currently investigating a potential link between these two incidents.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. May the Almighty grant them consolation. We also pray for the swift recovery of those injured.

Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, stated:

"We categorically condemn all acts of violence directed against any population groups, regardless of their political, ideological, or religious affiliation. Among those injured in the New Orleans attack are two Israeli tourists. We trust that United States law enforcement and intelligence agencies will promptly resolve this heinous crime and implement all necessary measures to prevent such tragedies in the future. We stand in mourning alongside the families of all those affected."
